1925 – 2016
FARMINGTON — Alice B. Ramey, 90, of Rumford Center, died Saturday, Nov. 5, at the Sandy River Center, Farmington.
She was born in North Rumford on Nov. 18, 1925, the daughter of Leo and Elinor (Farrar) Bartlett. She graduated sixth in her class from Stephens High School in Rumford, Class of 1944, and attended Rumford Community Hospital School of Nursing.
Alice worked as a telephone operator for three years and then as a florist at Davis Florist for over 18 years. She enjoyed gardening, picking berries, quilting, knitting, and the outdoors, especially fishing, camping and canoeing.
Alice was married in Rumford Center on Sept. 22, 1946, to Bruce J. Ramey of Farmington, who survives. Other survivors include a daughter, Sheryl Titcomb and husband, Rodney, of Farmington; two sons, Delbert E. Ramey of Caribou and Glenn B. Ramey and wife, Jeannette, of Fort Walton Beach, Fla.; three sisters, Barbara Gallant of Bethel, Fay Smith and husband, Karl, of Hebron and Zephyrhills, Fla., and Helen Ladd and husband, Jack, of Woolwich; seven grandchildren, Eric Titcomb, Heather Draper, Rebecca Rife, Kathleen Cyr, Kristina Priest, Matthew Ramey and Elizabeth Frisbee; and six great-grandchildren, Kiele and Amira Rife, Nova and Luke Cyr, and Cameron and Katelynn Frisbee.
She was predeceased by a daughter-in-law, Sharon Ramey; a brother-in-law, Stanley Gallant; and a great-granddaughter, Caitriana Rife.
