1926 – 2016

FARMINGTON — James W. Gelinsky, 89, of Wilton passed away Sunday, Nov. 6, at Franklin Memorial Hospital following a brief illness.

He was born in Rumford on Dec. 8, 1926, a son of Annie (Siegal) and James W. Gelinsky.

Jim was educated in Rumford schools and played on the varsity football team. He served in the U.S. Army during the occupation of Germany.

Jim was a former member of the American Legion. He enjoyed skiing, hunting, fishing and playing golf. He and his late wife, the former Lorraine Belanger, enjoyed ballroom dancing.

Surviving are his companion, Lillian C. Miller, with whom he made his home; a sister, Margaret “Maggie” Vigue of Rumford; many nieces and nephews; and good friends, the Bretz Family.

He was predeceased by his parents; his wife, Lorraine (Belanger); three sisters, Eva Palmer, Mary Goodwin and Annie Siegel; and three brothers, Adam, John and Joseph.
