1924 – 2016

MT. VERNON, Ohio — Marcel P. Toutain, 92, a former Lewiston resident, passed away peacefully Tuesday, March 8, at the Brookdale Senior Living Center.

He was born in Lewiston, Jan. 16, 1924, the son of Henri J. and Donalda (Angers) Toutain. Marcel attended Lewiston schools and was a 1942 graduate of Lewiston High School.

Following graduation, he worked briefly at the Lewiston Bleachery and Dye Works prior to serving our country as a pilot in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II.

Following the war, he worked as a personal flight instructor and installer/repairman at Television Center in Lewiston, prior to owning and operating a coin-operated music and game business until retirement.

He was a member of the former St. Mary’s Church and subsequently Holy Cross Church. He was a member of the American Legion, Le Club Musicale-Litteraire, and the Maine wing of the Civil Air Patrol. Marcel was an avid outdoorsman who also enjoyed fishing and hunting of all kinds.

Survivors include a son, Henry Toutain, and wife, Beverly, of Mt. Vernon, Ohio; two grandchildren, Christopher and wife, Ashley, and Elizabeth.

He was predeceased by his wife of 63 years, the former Liliette Veilleux.
