AUGUSTA — Locked in a tight game at the half, Central Maine Community College came out of the break firing.

Tianna Harriman dropped in six 3-pointers, Brooke Reynolds was a beast on the boards and finished with 14 points, seven rebounds and seven steals, and Kristina Blais added nine points off the bench to lead the Mustangs to a 62-50 win over the University of Maine at Augusta on Thursday.

After a back-and-forth first half, CMCC found itself in an unfamiliar position — tied at halftime.

In the third quarter, the pressure defense got to the Moose, leading to several easy baskets by the Mustangs. After another similar surge in the fourth, CMCC jumped out to a 20-point lead and held on for the win.

Jenny Schlim also finished with 11 points for the Mustangs.

Caitlin LaFountain led the Moose with 19 points, while Jamie Plummer finished with a double-double of 15 points and 13 rebounds.

With the win, CMCC improves to 7-0 overall and 3-0 in the Yankee Conference.
