1940 – 2016

AUGUSTA — Wallace Earl Williams, 76, of Jay died late Wednesday evening, Nov. 16, at the Togus VA Medical Center.

He was born in Farmington, Jan. 15, 1940, a son of Donald and Felice (Hathaway) Williams and received his education in Wilton schools. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy and was a hardworking, “jack-of-all-trades” working at various factories in the area.

On May 23, 1964, he married Gertrude Ellis. She died April 22, 2014. He enjoyed going to auctions and lawn sales and was a coin collector. He was a member of George Bunten American Legion Post No. 10 of Livermore Falls. He will be remembered as a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

He is survived by his children, Dale Williams of Jay and Nelda Williams of Sangerville; four grandchildren, Jazzmin Jewell and companion, Nate Turner, of Wilton, Journey Williams and her children, Audriaunna and Bentley of Livermore Falls, Dale B. “D.J.” Williams and Zachary Williams, both of Waterville; a brother, Maynard Williams and his wife, June, of Jay.

He was predeceased by a son, Donald in 2008; and a sister, Nelda.
