1919 – 2016

LEWISTON — Florianne Robitaille, 97, of North Temple St., Lewiston, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Nov. 23, at her home, with her children and her granddaughter, Kelly by her side.

Born in Sherbrooke, Canada, on Feb. 13, 1919, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Delia (Paradis) DesFosses. She was married to Lionel A. Robitaille on Jan. 5, 1946. He died Aug. 11, 2014.

She was a loving mother to Ronald Robitaille and wife, Monique; the late Helen Bichrest; Rachel Provencher; Monique Meau and husband, Jeffrey; and Suzanne Fleming; cherished grandmother of Kelly Provencher and Cindy; Michael Bichrest and wife, Carmen; James Artz and wife, Megan; Gina Wilson and husband, Gary; the late Melissa Artz; Lisa Provencher; Gregory Provencher; devoted great-grandmother to Alyssa, Andrew and Alec Wilson; Helena Bichrest; JD, Jacob and Madeline Artz; Cameron Provencher Shaw and Bonifacio; also many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by seven sisters and one brother.

After her retirement from Maine Electronics, she spent endless hours gardening and canning with her lifelong companion, Lionel. They loved to share the fruits of their labor with family and friends who would stop in to visit with them.

She and Lionel enjoyed casino trips and bowling with longtime friends, Lucienne and Wilfred Cloutier.

She would play pinochle with anyone she could corner. She also cherished time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
