AUBURN — Maureen A. Rock, 80, beloved wife of Tom Rock, of Auburn, passed away at the Auburn Hospice House on Monday, Nov. 28.
She was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., the daughter of John Henry (Hyme) and Mary Shanahan of Lewiston.
She excelled in business and worked with New England Telephone and GasLight Co. She was also the office manager at Shanahan’s Carpet Center and sales manager at KISS 100 Radio.
Maureen was active in community affairs. She served on the board of directors for the Salvation Army and was vice president of the local chapter of Altrusa. She was a member of the Hospitalized Veterans of America, St. Mary’s Hospital Patronesses, and president and director of the Edgewood Condominium Association. Maureen also served as a volunteer for Multiple Sclerosis, The Heart Fund, the Cancer Fund, and the March of Dimes.
She leaves her husband of 46 years; a son, Steve St. Jean and his spouse, Robin, of Eustis; a daughter, Susan St. Jean of Poland Spring; grandchildren, Melissa and Ryan; great-grandchildren, Isaac, Aiden and Jayden; and a special K-9 friend, Dakota.
She was predeceased by her parents; a brother, Jack Shanahan; and her two beloved West Highland terriers, Daisy Mae of Dog Patch and Kelly Mae of Auburn.
