LIVERMORE — Selectperson Tom Gould told the board Tuesday night that he has found documentation that could confirm Wyman Road is legally a town road.
Minutes from the 1946 town meeting show it was voted to accept the road and raise $300 for the road.
“We should plow the road this year,” Gould said.
Wyman Road is in bad shape; it is difficult to maintain and serves no public interest, he said. He recommended that the board begin the discontinuance process and bring it before the voters at the next annual town meeting.
In other business, Administrative Assistant Amy Byron recently attended a workshop, Municipal Law for Town and City Managers, which highlighted the need for towns to have written turnaround agreements.
“If town trucks are turning around in a driveway, we should have that documentation,” Byron said.
Highway Foreman Roger Ferland said the town used to have them, with most of the dead-end roads having one.
Selectperson Timothy Kachnovich recommended the two work together to develop a list of the agreements already in place and obtain any other agreements necessary.
