OXFORD — Police identified the three people injured Wednesday night in a head-on collision on Skeetfield Road.
Oxford police officer Zac Bisson said that shortly before 5 p.m., Isabella Iadarola, 15, of Oxford was traveling north on Skeetfield Road in a 2004 Dodge Caravan, while Jason Tobin, 29, of Otisfield was traveling south in a 2001 Honda Civic.
Bisson said the two vehicles collided head-on in front of 280 Skeetfield Road, where the two-lane road is slightly curved.
Iadarola and her passenger, Araminta Mayberry, 42, of Oxford were both taken to Stephens Memorial Hospital for evaluation of minor injuries. Both were reportedly treated and released.
Lt. Michael Ward said Jason Tobin and his passenger, Debra Tobin, 59, were seriously injured. Jason was transported to Maine Medical Center in Portland, while Debra was taken to Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston.
Attempts to obtain information on their conditions were unsuccessful Thursday evening.
The Tobins were trapped in their vehicle after the crash and had to be extricated by rescue personnel.
Bisson said the cause of the crash is still under investigation, adding that the road conditions at the time were not a factor.
Police closed both ends of Skeetfield Road, which runs between Routes 26 and 121, during the investigation and cleanup.
Oxford rescuers called for assistance from Poland Fire and Rescue to help at the scene.
