FARMINGTON — A Maine Department of Transportation employee was cited with a summons after running a red light Wednesday morning and striking another vehicle on Wilton Road, Farmington police say.

Greg Inman, 59, of West Paris was driving a 2013 Ford Fusion north on Routes 2 and 4, also known as Wilton Road, at about 10 a.m. when he went through the traffic lights in front of Wal-Mart, officer Ryan Rosie said.

Donald DeRoche, 81, of Farmington was driving a 2015 Ford F-150 across the four-lane highway at the lights from Wal-Mart to the Mt. Blue Shopping Center. His vehicle was struck on the side by Inman’s vehicle. He was not injured.

Inman was taken to Franklin Memorial Hospital by a NorthStar ambulance with injuries that were not life-threatening, Rosie said.

Snow was falling, but the weather was not a factor in the accident, Rosie said.
