I write this in response to Larry Carrier (letter, Dec. 7).
I was determined to give the president-elect a chance, unlike what many gave his predecessor. I love my country from the deepest place in my soul.
But when the president-elect began announcing appointments of white supremacists to positions of great power within the White House, he lost my support. I will not support embedding more blatant white supremacy within the government.
I will stand up for racial justice and draw strength from my Unitarian Universalist faith while doing so. I will not practice the politics of name calling with left and right.
I hope this nation will become the United States of America again, soon.
