1933 – 2016

LEWISTON — Madelyn F. Huston, 83, of Lisbon Falls passed away peacefully on Saturday, Dec. 10, at Central Maine Medical Center surrounded by her family.

She was born Oct. 8, 1933, in Lisbon Falls, a daughter of the late John and Mary (Lymes) Ruby Sr. She grew up in the area and attended local schools in Lisbon.

On Aug. 14, 1954, she married Carl D. Huston Sr. and they started a family together. During that time, Madelyn worked mostly in the home tending to her family’s needs but also did some bookkeeping for the family business.

Madelyn will always be remembered for her love of wanting to spend time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, especially around the holidays. That time brought her much joy. She also enjoyed bowling and was a member of various leagues over the years.

She is survived by her children, Brenda Field and her husband, James, of Lisbon Falls, Carl D. Huston Jr. and his wife, Sandra, of Lisbon Falls, and Carol Ann Hydle of Jacksonville, Fla. She also leaves behind a sister, Helen (Ruby) Barrett of Lisbon; along with all of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her loving husband, Carl D. Huston Sr., in 2011, as well as her siblings.

There is peace in knowing that she is now graced with her late husband’s embrace, siblings’ faces, parents’ love, and lost memories that Alzheimer’s had taken from her long before her last breath. May she find great joy in her eternal life.
