1938 – 2016
SURPRISE, Ariz. — Jackie P. Smith passed away Saturday, Dec. 3, at home.
A native of Auburn, she was born Oct. 16, 1938, the daughter of Raymond W. and Marguerite B. (Hackett) Hartley. She was educated in Auburn schools. She worked at Pioneer Plastics, King’s Department Store, flower and craft shops and cleaning for Auburn Housing Authority, before retiring and settling to Arizona. She loved to do crafts, knitting with her knitting club in Auburn, sewing, puzzles, and word searches.
She is survived by her daughter, Lisa; four sons, Eric and wife, Krystina, Gary, Mark, Norman and wife, Erlene; six granddaughters; and seven grandsons. She also leaves behind two of her dear friends, Dolores and Sherry.
She was predeceased by her parents, Marguerite and Raymond Hartley; and her special kitty “Honey.”
She was blessed by the gentle care of her son Eric; daughter-in-law, Krystina; her daughter, Lisa; and her granddaughter, Samantha.
