From a tiny studio in the rear of Center Street’s Bible Bookstore comes the only daily radio program in the United States devoted solely to education issues. It’s “Education Today,” a half-hour talk show produced by Steve Moitozo and aired 51 times a week on six Maine stations: WTME in Lewiston-Auburn; WKTQ and WOXO in Norway-South Paris; WTBM in Rumford-Mexico; and WABK-AM and WABK-FM in Gardiner-Augusta. Unlike other broadcasts focused on societal concerns, this is not a public service program. “The time is not provided by the radio stations; they require payment, and we buy air time,” Moitozo said. The radio show and a publication titled “At Home in New England” are the primary products of the non-profit organization Education Today Inc.
