AUBURN — Veronica J. “Vonnie” Lowe, 65, of Mechanic Falls went to her Heavenly Home, Saturday, Dec. 24, surrounded by her loving family at the Hospice House in Auburn.

She was born on July 8, 1951, in Mechanic Falls, a daughter of, Everett and Irene (McMorin) Herrick and attended local schools.

On Oct. 26, 1973, she married Walter Lowe in Minot, with whom she shared 43 wonderful years of love and devotion.

Vonnie worked at the Water St. School as an Ed Tech. and later at the Elm St. School as custodian and in the kitchen.

She was a member of the Mechanic Falls Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary.

Vonnie enjoyed cooking, rides to Wilsons Mills to look for moose, attending the Oxford and Fryeburg Fairs, the company of the students from the school, and especially time spent with her family and grandchildren. On Halloween and Christmas for many years, she enjoyed handing out hot chocolate and donuts to the local children at Kathy’s Diner.

She is survived by her husband, Walter of Mechanic Falls; two children, Tina Kimball of Norway and Wally Lowe of Lewiston; grandchildren, Zachary, Brandon and Tyler Kimball, Emily Lowe, Josh and Casey Dyer; great-granddaughter, Lilly Kimball; a brother, Greg Herrick and his wife, Doris, of Poland; a sister, Dorothy Metivier and her husband, George, of Portland; brothers-in-law, Arthur Lowe and his wife, Laura, of Poland and Paul Lowe and his wife, Penny, of Oxford; nieces and nephews, Amanda and Michael LaCourse of Portland, Jennifer Buckley of Gorham, Angie Bordeaux of Westbrook, Bryan Lowe of Poland, and Morgan Lowe of Florida.

She was predeceased by her parents; two brothers, Michael and Gerald Herrick; a stepdaughter, Sonya Dyer.
