1976 – 2016

BANGOR — Kenneth A. Broughton, 40, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 12, surrounded by his loving family at Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor.

Born in Lewiston on Aug. 30, 1976, he was the son of Shelley Broughton. He attended schools in Presque Isle, Farmington, Bristol, Rumford, Portsmouth and Newport, R.I.

Kenny has gone to be with the Lord. He fought a short courageous battle against cancer by focusing his energy on life and the love of his family. Kenny chose to create a “bucket list” and to enjoy the time he had.

Kenny worked in the plumbing and construction fields. He owned his company K.B. Construction. In the winter, he plowed and shoveled snow. He was methodical, although he never found enough time in a day to do everything he needed or wanted to do.

Kenny loved life, adventures and the outdoors. He liked camping, swimming, hiking and fishing. He loved going on trips and said he felt free when he rode his motorcycle. Kenny also liked the holidays, tinkering with things, his tools and good food. He was a good cook. He loved to laugh.

Kenny wanted to be remembered for his best accomplishments: his two beautiful daughters, who he loved to the moon and back, being a good father, being a better man, and having God in his life.

Kenny is survived by his wife, Shelley Broughton; his mother, Shelley Broughton; daughters, Alana Broughton and Haley Broughton; a cousin, Sarah Broughton, who he considered to be his sister; many aunts, uncles and cousins; and his beloved dogs, Duchess and Hannah.

Kenny had a good heart. He leaves us all with special memories of him enjoying life and all that he was able to achieve. He treasured and was treasured by friends and family who believed in him. We will all miss Kenny’s sense of humor and his willingness to help others. He leaves his family with an emptiness that no one will ever fill. May God bless you and keep you, Kenny.
