Activists to discuss Rumford water

RUMFORD — Community members may attend an informational meeting about Poland Spring collection of River Valley water and meet with activists who oppose the company tapping Rumford’s water. 

The meeting will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 12, in the Public Room of the Rumford Public Library.

Farmington’s Winter Farmers Market

FARMINGTON — Farmington’s Winter Farmers Market will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays through the end of April at the Farmington Grange Hall, 124 Bridge St.

Temple Historical Society open house

TEMPLE — The Temple Historical Society will hold an open house from 1 to 3 p.m. on the third Sunday of January, February and March in the Archives Room at the Temple Town Hall.

The first open house will be Jan. 15.

The public is invited to research or just going through the archives accumulated over the years; members will be available to assist.

Temple Historical Society’s monthly meeting will be held at 3 p.m., and guests may attend.

Collective Action Network meeting

BRIDGTON — The Lake Region Collective Action Network will meet from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 17, at the Town Office on Iredale Street.

The snow date will be Friday, Jan. 20. 

The purpose of the Lake Region Collective Action Network is to bring together the expertise of the people who provide formal or informal help to families in the Lake Region communities. The network seeks to support a greater vision for a connected and resource-rich community.

There are many issues families in the communities are facing that are best addressed together. The group will seek to serve as a central meeting place to improve efficiency at tackling complex community problems.
