Updated 2:24 p.m.: Snow, rain, and wind may create a messy morning commute Wednesday along with scattered power outages.
The storm arrives Tuesday night and leaves by Wednesday afternoon.
Temperatures may be cold enough for a quick round of snow for parts of the state before a change to rain. Little to no snow accumulation is expected for the coastal plain.
A coating to 1 inch inland is expected.
Most snow accumulations will be in the mountains as the snow will hang on longest there. Higher elevations should pick up 3 to 6 inches.
For most of the state, rain will be the dominate type of precipitation Tuesday night.
Winds will pay a role, gusting over 40 mph. Scattered power outages are possible.
Rain and mountain snow will end during the early morning Wednesday.
Ice may create some problems during the morning commute.
By afternoon, the sun should be back with temps in the 40s.
