OTISFIELD — A vacant mobile home on Morin Avenue was destroyed in a fire of unknown origin Tuesday afternoon, Fire Chief Kyle Jordan said.
No one was home at the time, he said. The call came in at 2:30 p.m.
“It’s uninhabitable,” he said. “It’s a total loss.”
The State Fire Marshal’s Office will investigate the cause, Jordan said.
Fire departments from Oxford, Norway, Paris, Casco, Poland and Harrison assisted Otisfield firefighters. Several tankers hauled water to the scene, which is off Ahonen Road.
“There’s snow and ice, but we do the best we can in those conditions,” Jordan said.
Crews left the scene before 8:30 p.m.
