WALES — Senior center Marcus Bailey notched a double-double with 30 points and 12 rebounds as Oak Hill overcame a first half deficit to secure a 65-57 victory over Mountain Valley in boys’ basketball action Tuesday evening.

The Raiders (6-3) trailed 33-25 at the half. Junior guard Cohen Donnell added 11 points for Oak Hill.

Sophomore guard Jake Blanchard scored a team-high 21 points for the Falcons (4-6). Junior guard Mike Pare tossed seven field goals, including five from three-point range, for 19 points for Mountain Valley in the losing effort.

Carrabec 66, Dirigo 60

DIXFIELD — Carrabec used a 23-9 third-quarter run to rebounds from a 10-point deficit and went on to post a 66-60 mid-season victory over Dirigo in a boys’ basketball tilt Tuesday.

Evan Holzworth led the Cobras (2-7) with a game-high 25 points, while Alexander Stafford tallied 16 and Dustin Crawford added 12.

The Cougars (1-8) were paced by Cooper Chiasson with 17 points, while Alex Gorham chipped in with 13.

NYA 52, Buckfield 28

BUCKFIELD — Jake Malcom led a trio of players in double figures Tuesday as North Yarmouth Academy raced away to a 52-28 rout over Buckfield.

Malcom paced his squad with 15 points, while Naven Cutko tallied 14 and Chandler Waldron added 10.

Jake Hackett paced the Bucks (3-6) with eight points, while Kyle Charest and Jake Kraske each added six.

Gardiner 68, Leavitt 58

GARDINER — Gardiner jumped out to a eight-point advantage in the first quarter and kept up the offensive pressure throughout, running away to a 68-58 mid-season win over Leavitt on Tuesday evening.

Connor McGuire and Eli Kroop led the Tigers (6-4) with 15 points each, while Hunter Chasse chipped in with 14. Cole Heaberlin also contributed with 12 points, while Isaiah Magee added 10.

The Hornets (1-9) were paced by D’Andre James and Jack Sylvester with 17 points apiece.

Monmouth 55, Telstar 43

MONMOUTH — Senior guard Hunter Richardson compiled a double-double with 23 points and 12 rebounds to lead Monmouth to a 55-43 victory over Telstar in boys’ basektball action Tuesday evening.

The Mustangs (3-7) built a nine-point lead at the midpoint and held strong in the second half. Senior guard Mat Foulke contributed 11 points for Monmouth.

Senior forward Tanner Wheeler and junior guard Blake Rothwell posted 11 points each for the Rebels (2-8) in the losing effort.

Fryeburg 55, Gray-NG 48

GRAY — Joe LeBrun manufactured a team-high 16 points to lead Fryeburg to a 55-48 triumph over Gray-New Glocuester in boys’ basketball action Tuesday evening.

The Raiders (6-3) went on a 20-5 tear in the third quarter to create some bouyancy down the stretch. Oscar Saunders contributed 15 points, while Cody Gullikson chipped in with 10 points for Fryeburg.

LeBrun scored eight points in the fourth quarter for the Raiders, going 6-for-6 from the foul line.

John Martin tossed a game-high 18 points for the Patriots (5-4) in the losing effort.

Girls’ basketball

Monmouth 53, Mt. Abram 23

SALEM — The Mustangs used a balanced attack in a 53-23 victory over the Roadrunners in a MVC contest Tuesday night.

Maddie Amero led Monmouth (8-2) with 10 points while Abbie Allen and Tia Day each had nine points. Day led the Mustangs with three three-pointers.

Summer Ross had six points to lead Mt. Abram (4-4) while Ashlyn Sorel chipped in with five points.

Dirigo 33, Carrabec 19

NORTH ANSON — Dirigo went on a 13-4 run in the third quarter and pulled away to record a 33-19 victory over Carrabec in a mid-season girls’ basketball tilt Tuesday.

Olivia Noyes led the Cougars (3-6) with 10 points, while Sophia Jacques and Kaicey Conant each added seven.

Mackenzie Baker paced the Cobras (2-7) with eight points, while Bailey Dunphy chipped in with seven.

NYA 62, Buckfield 30

BUCKFIELD — North Yarmouth Academy sprinted out to a eight-point advantage in the first frame and never eases off the gas, racing away to a 62-30 rout over Buckfield in more girls’ basketball action Tuesday.

Maggie Larson led the Panthers with 19 points, while Sydney Plummer tallied 18 amd Helen Hamblett added 12.

Hannah Shields led the Bucks (2-6) with a solid 12-point effort, the only player to reach double figures.

Gray-NG 53, Fryeburg 25

FRYEBURG — After building a 10-point lead in the first half, Gray-New Gloucester cruised to an easy 53-25 win over Fryeburg in more girls’ hoops action Tuesday evening.

Izzy DeTroy led Coach Mike Andreasen’s undefeated Patriots (9-0) with 13 points, while Alicia Dumont tallied 11 and Bri Jordan added 10.

Mackenzie Buzzell paced the Raiders (5-4) with 10 points, the only player to reach double figures.

Boothbay 50, Hall-Dale 22

FARMINGDALE — Boothbay built an insurmountable 31-10 advantage in the first half and raced away to record a convincing 50-22 victory over Hall-Dale in more mid-season girls’ basketball action Tuesday evening.

Page Brown led the undefeated Seagulls (10-0) with a game-high 22 points, while Kate Friant and Faith Blevin each added 12.

The Bulldogs (0-10) were paced by Ellie Decker with eight points, while Sabrina Freeman chipped in with six.

Boys’ hockey

Lewiston 4, Biddeford 1

BIDDEFORD — The Blue Devils improve to 7-0 with a 4-1 victory over Biddeford in a boys’ hockey contest.

Sam Frechette and Joe Bisson scored in the first period to give Lewiston a 2-1. Alex Rivet had an assist on each Blue Devils goal. Colin Petit scored the Tigers (4-2) lone goal.
