LEWISTON — Matt Fleming’s baseline jumper with six seconds remaining gave Oxford Hills a 60-58 boys’ basketball victory over Lewiston on Friday.

The Blue Devils had a chance to tie it, but Jalen Allison missed a contested layup at the buzzer.

Fleming finished with a game-high 24 points and 12 rebounds. Chris St Pierre had 11 and Atreyu Keniston chipped in with 10 points for the Vikings (10-3).

Ibn Khalid and Luke Madore each led the Blue Devils (2-11) with 14 points, while Garrett Poussard had 13 points and Desmond Jackson finished the game with 12 points.

Leavitt 63, Mt. Ararat 57

TURNER — Jack Sylvester and Nick Angello paced Leavitt to a 63-57 boys’ basketball win over Mt. Ararat on Friday night.

Sylvester led the Hornets (3-10) with 17 points, while Angelo hit four 3-pointers and scored 12 points. Cole Morin finished with a double-double, scoring 11 points and grabbing 11 rebounds.

Jared Balser had 15 points to lead the Eagles (3-10). Max Spelke added 10 points and made three 3-pointers.

Gray-New Gloucester 72, Traip 54

KITTERY — John Martin drained seven 3-pointers, but had to settle for the second-most points on his own team. Hunter Colby scored a game-high 30 points, with none coming from behind the arc, for Gray-New Gloucester, which beat host Traip Academy 72-54 in WMC boys’ basketball action Friday night.

Martin added 25 for the Patriots (7-5).

Angelo Succi had a team-high 10 points for the Rangers (4-8), who made as many 3s as a team as Martin did individually. Joe Cavanagh had two of those to add eight points for Traip.

Girls’ basketball

Gould 43, Hebron 42

HEBRON — The Hebron Academy girls’ basketball team lost a heartbreaker Friday, falling to Gould Academy 43-42.

“It was an awesome game,” Lumberjacks coach Colin Griggs said. “It was just back-and-forth the whole way.”

Hebron’s (5-4) Maddy New led all scorers with 22 points, which featured four 3-pointers. Franceska Halloran added 14 points, seven assists and six steals, and Reily New contributed four points and nine rebounds.

Priscilla Berdeja made three 3-pointers for Gould (4-0) en route to 19 points.

Leavitt 41, Mt. Ararat 35

TOPSHAM — Leavitt stormed back in the second half to claim a 41-35 girls’ basketball victory over Mt. Ararat on Friday.

The Hornets (5-7) outscored the Eagles 30-18 after halftime, and overcame six 3-pointers and 20 points by Mt. Ararat’s (2-9) Nikki Bradstreet.

Allie Belaire sank four 3-pointers of her own and paced Leavitt with 13 points. Rebecca Fogg added 11 points. Also for the Hornets: Shannon O’Malley pulled down nine rebounds, Carlee Long made four steals, and Elizabeth Goulette dished out five assists.

Gray-New Gloucester 55, Traip 26

GRAY — The Patriots used a fast start en route to a 55-26 victory over Traip Friday evening.

Isabelle DeTroy and Grace Kariotis each had 13 points to lead Gray-New Gloucester. Brianna Jordan had eight rebounds and eight assists to go along with four points.

Marina Casey led the Rangers with 12 points.

Mountain Valley 44, Mt. Abram 36

SALEM — In a physical game, Mountain Valley came out on top 44-36 over Mt. Abram in a MVC contest Friday night.

Chelsea Allison had 12 points to lead the Falcons (11-2), while Liza White chipped in with 10 points.

The Roadrunners (5-5) were sparked by Summer Ross, who had a game-high 16 points. Meg Sorel dropped in 10 points.

Rangeley 34, Valley 25

BINGHAM — Natasha Haley had a double-double to lead Rangeley to a 34-25 victory over Valley in girls’ basketball Friday.

Haley finished with 13 points and 11 rebounds. Sydney Royce had 10 points and three steals for the Lakers (10-2).

Alexis Davis had nine points to lead Valley (3-9).

LEWISTON — The Fighting Spirit offense was clicking Friday night at the Androscoggin Bank Colisee in a 8-1 victory over the East Coast Minutemen.

Dylan Vrees had a hat trick and three assists. Jonathan Donaghey had a pair of goals and an assist, while Matt Siegel had a goal and two assists. JP Chauvin had a goal and assist, and Denver Lundstrom also scored.

Aaron Callan made 23 saves in the victory.

Women’s basketball

Connecticut 87, Bates 69

NEW LONDON, Conn. — Allie Coppola’s big game wasn’t enough as the Bates College women’s basketball team fell to Connecticut College 87-69 on Friday.

Coppola put up 28 points for the Bobcats, who fall to 5-11. Bernadette Connors added 16 points for Bates.

Kylie Caouette paced Connecticut (11-5) with 22 points, including 4-of-11 shooting from 3-point range.

New England College 56, UMaine-Farmington 37

HENNIKER, N.H. — Tiffany Davis scored a game-high 14 points and pulled down 18 rebounds to lead host New England College to a 56-37 NAC women’s basketball victory over UMaine-Farmington on Friday night.

Mikala Malboeuf added 10 points for the Pilgrims (12-3, 7-2).

Paige Carter came off the bench to lead the Beavers (3-10, 3-6) with eight points.

Men’s basketball

UMaine-Farmington 72, New England College 55

HENNIKER, N.H. — Amir Moss and Riley Robinson combined for 41 points to lift visiting UMaine-Farmington to a 72-55 victory over New England College in NAC action on Friday night.

Moss led the way with 22 points on 10-for-21 shooting for the Beavers (5-10, 4-5), while Robinson drained three 3-pointers and finished with 19 points.

Brenndan Rogers hit four 3s to lead the Pilgrims (10-6, 5-4) with 14 points.

Connecticut College 73, Bates 58

LEWISTON — The visiting Camels had three players in double figures to help Connecticut College knock off host Bates 73-58 in a NESCAC men’s basketball game Friday night at Alumni Gym.

Tyler Rowe led the way for the Camels (11-5, 2-3) with 19 points, while Lee Messier added 17 and David Laossiere 16.

Malcolm Delpeche led the Bobcats (12-5, 3-2) with 18 points, and Tom Coyne also hit double digits, finishing with 10 points.
