1927 – 2017
AUBURN — Anita B. Tardif, 89, of Lewiston, passed away Sunday, Jan. 22, at the Hospice House of Androscoggin.
She was born in Cambridge, Mass., on May 2, 1927, the daughter of the late Louis A. and Philippine M. (Bedard) Bedard. She graduated from high school at Mount Merici Academy in Waterville.
Her parents owned and operated Bedard Pharmacy where Anita worked until the pharmacy was sold. She then became the office manager at Clark Pharmacy. On May 15, 1948, Anita married the love of her life, Jean Paul Tardif, who died Oct. 14, 2002.
After retiring, JP and Anita built a home and resided in Sun City Center, Fla., where she became a master instructor of Bunka Japanese art embroidery. She won many ribbons and awards for her magnificent artwork. Anita will always be remembered for her loving and joyful nature.
She is survived by a nephew, Ronald Tancrede, and his wife, Eileen; nieces, Pauline Fraser and her husband, Ralph, Paulette Picard and her husband, Gerard, Patricia Roy and her husband, Paul; cousins, Constance DeBlois, Rene Desrochers and his wife, Lorraine, Helene Lepage and her husband, Romeo and several other cousins.
She was predeceased by her husband; her parents; her sister, Delia Tancrede; her brother, Wilfrid Bedard; and her cousin and godson, Albert N. DeBlois.
