Velentine’s dance at VFW
AUBURN — Juke Joint Devil will headline the Valentine’s Day dance at Friday, Feb. 3, VFW Post 1603, 588 Minot Ave.
A pork loin supper will start the evening with serving from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., and the swing and blues music will begin at 7 p.m.
Admission will be $7 for adults and $3 for children younger than 12.

Post 31 Legion meeting
AUBURN — American Legion Post 31 will hold an an open meeting for all of its members, along with members of the Auxiliary and Sons of the American Legion.
This will be a members-only open forum to discuss moving the Post forward in the community and in membership.
The meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 30, at 426 Washington St. North.
Sabattus Seniors meeting Feb. 2
SABATTUS — The Sabattus Seniors will meet on Thursday, Feb. 2.
The meal will consist of sandwiches, chips and dessert. To attend this meeting, seniors must sign up by calling 207-375-6588. Cancellation deadline is Jan. 30.
If schools are canceled due to weather, the Seniors’ meeting will also be canceled. Cancellation will be posted at WMTW-TV.

United New Auburn Association meeting
AUBURN — The United New Auburn Association will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 31, at Rolly’s Diner.
The discussion topic will be where to place the St. Louis bells.
The guest speaker will be Doug Greene from the city of Auburn.
Tri-Town Penguins to meet
DURHAM — The Tri-Town Penguins Snowmobile Club of Durham, Freeport and Pownal meets at 7 p.m. on the last Tuesday of each month, September to April, at the Durham Fire Station at 615 Hallowell Road.
The next meeting will be Jan. 31. New members are always welcome.

LPL to make touchscreen gloves
LEWISTON — Lewiston residents will have the opportunity to hack their own touchscreen gloves on Tuesday, Jan. 31, at the Lewiston Public Library.
Winter is here in full force, and it can be chilly to remove gloves to use smartphones and tablets. LPL will provide conductive thread and other supplies to help solve that problem.
The workshop will be held from 4 to 5 p.m. for teens in the Teen space, and from 5 to 7 p.m. in the second-floor maker lab for teens and adults.
This program is part of the Library’s “Make It Happen @ LPL” Makerspace program.

Cribbage league lists winners
LEWISTON — Lewiston Senior Citizens Cribbage League winners on Jan. 19 were, first place, Moe Fournier and Don Mailliette; second, Bob Laplante and Bert Cloutier; third, Bob Allen and Larry Lefebvre; fourth, Leo Bergeron and Pat Harrington; and, fifth, Gerry Lepage and Cecilia Treworgy.
The Seniors play on Thursdays at the Lewiston Memorial Armory.
