OTISFIELD — Chairman Hal Ferguson said Wednesday that the Board of Selectmen is drafting a proposal to renovate the town clerk’s office to make it more secure.

During the Jan. 4 meeting, Selectman Rick Micklon said the town has funded other renovations to the Town Office building on Route 121, and the final phase would be the clerk’s office upstairs.

Ferguson said selectmen agreed to put together a proposal.

“We need to bring that area up to snuff and give it a little more organization,” Ferguson said. “We’re looking at adding some additional security measures for the people working up there.”

The board has looked at several different towns, and the next step is putting together a bid package, Ferguson said.

“We’re looking to get a dollar amount and put something before the people at the annual town meeting in June,” he said.
