1932 – 2017

NORWAY — Barbara Lillian Yeaton went to dance with the angels on Monday, Jan. 30, at Stephens Memorial Hospital with her family and closest friends by her side.

She was born in Unity on Dec. 22, 1932, the daughter of Elmo Poland and Ruby Curtis Poland. She attended school in Unity before relocating to the Oxford Hills area.

She married Charles O. Kimball Sr. and had four children. She later married Elwood E. Yeaton on Feb. 14, 1974, and gained five more children in the marriage.

Barbara enjoyed life to the fullest and loved to spend countless hours with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved knitting and crocheting for family and friends and also donated many hats, mittens and blankets to many other organizations. The time she and her husband spent with her friends in the country music association were her favorite. They were involved for more than 40 years and spent many hours on the dance floor. They also spent many years traveling to Tennessee in the spring for the country music awards there.

She leaves behind her loving husband, Elwood E. Yeaton of West Paris; her children, Mervin Kimball and his wife, Linda, Judy Herrick and her husband, Lewis, of West Paris, Cherie Buker of Oxford, and Charlie Kimball and his wife, Dara, of West Paris, Darlene Buker and her husband, Calvin, Mary Guy, Kathy Gould and her husband, Mike, Scott Yeaton, Elwood Yeaton III and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her parents; her brothers, Weldon Poland and Elmo Poland; and her sister, Virgileen Leet.
