LEWISTON — The Lewiston Auburn Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce will host the next HR Thursday workshop, “Becoming an Employer of Choice,” from noon to 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 23, at the chamber’s conference room at 415 Lisbon St.
The workshop is presented in partnership with the Central Maine Human Resource Association and the Lewiston CareerCenter.
Becoming an employer of choice is critical for recruitment and retention efforts. Employers from InterMed, P.A., Geiger, Moody’s Collision Center, SeniorsPlus and Community Health Options will talk about their efforts to evaluate workplace culture, employee engagement and morale; changes they made to become an employer of choice; and lessons learned. Information on the “Best Places to Work” program will also be available.
Cost for this workshop is $25 for LA Metro Chamber members, $50 for nonmembers, free for CMHRA members. Registration is available at www.LAMetroChamber.com. For questions, call 207-783-2249.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
