FARMINGTON — Doris E. Tripp, 79, a resident of Farmington, passed away peacefully Tuesday, Feb. 14, at her home.

She was born May 17, 1937, in Long Island, N.Y., the daughter of Clayton Corey and Lena (Worthley) Corey. Doris attended Edward Little High School in Auburn. On Nov. 8, 1958, in Auburn, she married Carroll “Sonny” Tripp Sr.; he passed away June 15, 2008.

She had worked as a teachers’ aide for the Androscoggin Head Start program in Auburn. She enjoyed crocheting, playing on the computer, watching Lifetime Movie Network, but above all else, she loved spending time with her family.

She is survived by her four daughters, Evelyn Kennedy and her husband, Mike, of Farmington, Janet Lessard and her husband, David, of Skowhegan; Barbara Jordan and her husband, Kevin, of Auburn and Tina Tripp and companion, Mike Short, also of Auburn; her sons, Clayton Tripp and companion, Kathy Colbroth, of Lewiston, and Ernest Tripp and his companion, Tina Sinclair, of Livermore Falls; 18 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild; her sisters, Barbara Rheaume and Gladys Barille, both of Lewiston.

She was predeceased by her husband, Carroll Tripp Sr.; her son, Ronald Tripp; and sister, Ada Parish.

Her family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice and Central Maine Medical Center for the wonderful care that was given to Doris.
