More than 200 couples enjoyed dancing in Auburn Hall, Saturday evening. Hobb’s American band of 10 pieces furnished music. Complaints have been registered against the running of dances in Auburn hall after 11:30. Some time ago it was ordained that dancing should stop in the hall before midnight, but of late the dances have been running until one o’clock.

50 years ago, 1967
Peter T. Snowe became the only Republican member of the 103rd Legislature from the Twin Cities yesterday as he defeated New Auburn Democrat Romeo Laberge 1,618 to 1,460 In a special election held in Auburn. Only 3,131 persons turned out to cast ballots in the special election as snow (and Snowe) blanketed the community, making driving and walking hazardous. The largest turnout was in Ward Five where 988 went to the polls. Ward Four had only 295. A total of 687 votes were cast in Ward One and 639 in Ward Two. In Ward Three, 519 voters turned out.
