Multiple crews fight a fire Wednesday morning at 171 Pisgah Road in Monmouth.

A fire started Wednesday morning in a portable garage and spread to the house on Pisgah Road in Monmouth. Both were destroyed.
MONMOUTH — Fire destroyed a house and a garage early Wednesday morning at 171 Pisgah Road.
The owner and his pet got out safely, Monmouth Fire Chief Dan Roy said.
Officials received a call at about 2 a.m. from a man who said his portable garage was on fire. Five surrounding fire departments responded, but when they arrived flames had spread to the house. The house and garage were a total loss.
Officials do not suspect foul play.
The investigation is ongoing.
