I was shocked to learn that, according to some news sources, it costs more than $200,000 per hour to operate Air Force One. That means flying President Donald Trump to Florida and back comes close to a million dollars.
Additionally, the New York City Police Department estimates it will cost up to $183 million a year to provide security to Trump Towers. And what about security for Mar-A-Largo in Florida? I wonder how much that is costing taxpayers?
It brings to mind the question of why can’t the president use the White House and Camp David for his business at hand? Wasn’t he the one that yammered on so much about fiscal responsibility in government on the campaign trail? And what about having to have Cross gold pens to pass out as souvenirs when he signs documents?
I guess Camp David is not opulent enough for him, but that runs contrary to his words of fiscal constraint. That is like his promises of bringing the nation together, yet his actions (tweets) drive people farther apart.
It is said that a good leader leads by example. Apparently, President Trump is one of those persons who says “do as I say, not as I do.”
Yes, a sad day for America.
