SUGAR HILL, Ga. — Effie Frances Waite, 86, of Sugar Hill, Ga., formerly of Rumford-Mexico, was carried on angels’ wings to her eternal home surrounded by her family on Sunday, March 5.
She was an avid reader and loved knitting, crocheting and working puzzles. Effie retired from Rumford Hospital after 35 years of service. Her family was very important in her life.
Effie is preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Waite; her parents, James and Frances Forbes; brothers, Clarence Forbes and James Forbes; and sisters, Marion Ziemer and Carlene Viles.
Survivors include her children, Sheila (Larry) Freeman of Sugar Hill, Ga., Peter Waite of Maine; sisters, Shirley Turmel of Maine, Carol Jackson of Florida, and Pricilla Pike of Maine; a brother, Warren Forbes of Maine; five grandchildren, Tim, Adam, Rebecca, Kara and Craig; and six great-grandchildren, Rayya, Haleigh, Hannah, Kaleb, Erick and Camberlyn.
