LEWISTON — The YWCA’s PEACE program will offer a collage workshop in partnership with students from Bates College’s Gender and Culture course on Thursday, March 16, from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at the YWCA, 130 East Ave.
The evening will combine creating a collaborative collage piece with a discussion on the concept of women’s empowerment.
Supplies will be provided but participants are welcome to bring any items — clippings, quotes, or trinkets — to contribute to the collage. All women are welcome.
PEACE (Positive Ethnic and Cultural Exchange) is an initiative to build community among women at the YWCA while emphasizing cross-cultural exchange. PEACE meets the first and third Thursday of every month at the YWCA and offers a diverse activities, including exercise classes, arts workshops and conversations around current events and social justice issues.
