TYNGSBORO, Mass. — In a crucial game for the L/A Fighting Spirit on Wednesday afternoon, they dropped a 2-0 decision to to the New England Stars.
The Fighting Spirit sit in fifth place in the Coastal Division of the North American 3 Hockey League, two points out of the fourth and final playoff position in the division with two games remaining. The Northeast Generals currently sit in fourth with 49 points. The Fighting Spirit have two games remaining on the regular season schedule, the home finale on Friday night against the Maine Wild and a rematch with the Stars on Sunday morning.
Ian Gately led the Stars with a goal and an assist while Tyson Gudaitis also scored. His goal came at the halfway mark of the first period while Tyson Gudaitis’ goal came with 13:13 left to play in the second period. Dom Lamanno made 26 saves for the shutout.
Aaron Callan made18 saves for the Fighting Spirit.
