FARMINGTON — A Farmington man faces a felony drug trafficking charge after police found evidence of sales made from his home near a town park.

During a bail check Thursday on Travis Lambert, 27, who lives on the Morrison Hill Road, police found more than five grams of heroin, scales, individual packets or “tickets” or heroin and $1,108 in cash, according to a news release from Police Chief Jack Peck.

After a search of Lambert’s home, Farmington Detective Darin Gilbert and Officer Michael Lyman arrested Lambert on a charge of trafficking heroin and violation of conditions of release.

Lambert lives approximately 450 feet from the drug safe zone surrounding Walton’s Mill Pond Park, Peck said.

“Based on their investigation, it is believed that Lambert has made drug sales from his residence which is well within the 1,000-foot, drug-safe zone,” Peck said. “For this reason, Mr. Lambert was charged with a Class A felony drug trafficking.”

A conviction on a Class A crime is punishable by up to 30 years in prison and a $50,000 fine.

Lambert was on pre-conviction bail for burglary and stealing drugs, Peck said. He is being held at the Franklin County Detention Center, awaiting a hearing on bail.

Farmington police displayed evidence they found at the home of Travis Lambert, 27, of Morrison Hill Road on Thursday. Lambert, who was out on bail, was charged with trafficking heroin.
