GREENE — Pauline C. (Dostie) Gauthier, 81, passed away peacefully Saturday, March 11, at her home in Greene, surrounded by her loving family and friends.

She was born in Augusta on July 3, 1935, the daughter of the late Alonzo and Ida (Theriault) Dostie. Pauline married Paul B. Gauthier on Nov. 9, 1957, at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Augusta. She was educated in the Augusta school system.

In her early years, she was a certified nursing assistant at St. Mary’s General Hospital in Lewiston and went on to private CNA duties in the community. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, canning, embroidery, fishing and bird-watching.

Pauline is survived by her children, Paul M. Gauthier, Lynda Gauthier (daughter-in-law), Patrick Gauthier, all of Greene; daughter, Cheryl Strout and her husband, Armand Strout, of Mechanic Falls; her sister, Rachel Viollette of Augusta; three grandchildren, Kenneth and Heath Gauthier and Oliver Strout; two great-grandchildren, Alivia and Connor Gauthier; and many nieces, nephews, friends and extended family.

She was predeceased by her husband, Paul B. Gauthier, five months prior; her parents, Alonzo and Ida Dostie; her brothers, Ted, Paul, Lawrence, Robert, Raymond, Ludger and Gabriel Dostie, all of Augusta; and her sister, Jean D’arc (Joanne) Vachon of Lewiston.

Pauline’s family would like to thank Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice for their support and loving care, as well as Pauline’s closest friends of 75 years, Alliette and Juliette, who always loved and supported Pauline throughout her life.
