AUBURN — Joyce M. Bickford, 87, of Auburn, LPN Retired, left this world on Sunday, March 12, on her journey to be reunited with her beloved husband, Walter and children, Sharon and Mark.

She was born April 10, 1929, to Edward and Emily Welch in Auburn. She graduated from Edward Little High School in 1946 and CMVTI in 1975. Joyce worked at Central Maine Medical Center for 20 years. She was a member of Court St. Baptist Church, and also was a member of the CSBC chime choir. She volunteered in Clothes Closet and Helping Hands at church.

Joyce is survived by her brother, Ernest Welch and his wife, Georgette, of Connecticut; her sister-in-law, Velvet Welch of Connecticut; her sisters, Starr Sward and her husband, Carl, of Connecticut, Pamela Cooper of Minot; many nieces and nephews; her sons, Steven Bickford and wife, Elaine, Neil Bickford and wife, Julie, Bruce Bickford and wife, Marjorie, Keith Bickford, and David Bickford and wife, Trudy; her nine grandchildren, Scott Bickford, Eric Bickford and his wife, Marie, Lisa Parker and her husband, Andrew, Megan Asbrock and her husband, Adam, Sharon Byer and her husband, James, Adam Bickford and his wife, Lindsey, Brian Bickford, Carrie Sanzone and her husband, Brandon, and Kristina Bickford; her 10 great-grandchildren and one on the way.

Joyce was predeceased by her husband, Walter Bickford in 1999; her daughter, Sharon Bickford in 1951; her son, Mark Bickford in 2005; her parents, Edward and Emily Welch; her brothers, Russell Morrell, Richard Welch and Edwin Welch; and her sister, Bertha Hanson.

Joyce will be greatly missed by her family, and all who knew her, may she rest peacefully in God’s hands.
