LEWISTON — Kenneth Moore, 93, of Lewiston, died peacefully following a short bout with cancer on Friday, March 17, at the Marshwood Nursing Home.
Born in Lewiston on July 4, 1923, he was the son of Marian K. Moore. He was educated in local schools and was a graduate of Edward Little High School, Class of ’42. A veteran of Wold War II, he served in the U.S. Navy, and for four years saw duty in the Atlantic-European-Mediterranean Theaters of Operation. On Oct. 4, 1950, he married Marie J. Filiault in Auburn. His wife passed away Feb. 2, 1992, and he was also predeceased by a daughter, Gloria A. Moore, who died on November 24, 1983.
Employed by Lewiston Trust Co. in 1948, and later by Depositors Trust Co. for 23 years, he also worked in the Maintenance Department office of Bates College for 18 years prior to his retirement. He belonged to the Lewiston Lodge of Elks, VFW Post 9150, and was a member of the former St. Joseph’s Church in Lewiston.
He is survived by a longtime companion of over 20 years, Ruth Drinkwater, of Auburn.
