Paige Richard of Leeds presented the Greater Androscoggin Humane Society on March 16 with the donations from her 10th birthday. Richard, a fourth-grade student at Leeds Central School, asked for donations for the pets in lieu of birthday gifts, and guests generously donated pet food, treats and cleaning supplies to help with the care of the thousands of unwanted animals the Humane Society helps each year. Richard is pictured with Ludo. The Greater Androscoggin Humane Society is at 55 Strawberry Ave. in Lewiston. FMI, adopt, volunteer: 207-783-2311, www.SavingPetsInMaine.org, facebook/GAHumane.
