WATERFORD — The Waterford Library Gardening Series will continue from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, April 8, on the first floor of the Waterford Library.
Those attending will learn “How to Make Your Own Seed Tapes.” Seed tapes are a practical way to reduce the number of seeds needed to plant and make thinning easier. Participants can use the seeds and materials provided or bring seeds.
They will also learn about the library’s community gardening program to raise veggies for the Sweden Food Pantry, which services Waterford residents. Sign-up sheets to volunteer for the community effort will be available.
From 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, April 22, behind the Waterford Library (or indoors if the weather is poor), participants will learn how to plan a garden for high volume production in a small space.
Volunteers will make a planting plan for the garden, help install a new drip irrigation system and help set up a community food distribution center in the shed.
