FORT MYERS, Fla. — Shirley A. Chouinard passed away Friday, March 24, in Fort Myers, Fla., after a long battle with lung cancer.
The daughter of Roland Gagnon and Theresa Roy Gagnon, Shirley was born Aug. 28, 1938, and raised in this area and went to Auburn schools, graduating from Edward Little High School, Class of 1956. She went on to St. Mary’s School of Nursing.
On Aug. 29, 1964, she married Paul Emile Chouinard and together they lived and worked in the Lewiston-Auburn area, as well as Augusta and Portland, moving to Fort Myers, Fla., in 1994.
Shirley enjoyed reading, gardening and crafts and spending her summers at Range Pond Campground with her husband, family and friends. Shirley was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it.
She is survived by her husband, Paul; a son, Phillip, and his wife, Heather, of Portland; and a sister, Edith, and her husband, Gary Beaulieu, of Bangor; and two grandchildren, Sophia and Ethan.
She was predeceased by her parents and a brother, Roland.
