SOUTH PORTLAND — Police are on the scene of a body found in the woods off exit 4 on Interstate 295.
Firefighters were called to the scene around 3:30am when a driver called to report seeing a fire in the woods. Once the fire was out, they discovered the body.
Police believe the person, identified only as a male, was homeless and was sleeping in a tent. Officers are now canvassing the area and looking for clues about what happened.
