RUMFORD — Florence Rowe Boucher, 98, formerly of Maple Street, passed away Saturday, April 1, at Rumford Community Home, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Shelburne, N.H., on May 2, 1918, a daughter of Henry and Eva (Chaput) Rowe.

Florence was educated in Rumford schools and was a graduate of Stephens High School, Class of 1937.

She married Henry J. Boucher on Sept. 21, 1940. Together, they celebrated 56 years of marriage. He passed away Aug. 10, 1996.

Florence was employed for many years at Bartash Cards and Gifts.

She was a communicant of Parish of the Holy Savior and a member of the Daughters of Isabella and the Eagles Auxiliary.

She enjoyed traveling, reading, crossword puzzles, crafts and dancing at the Eagles on Friday night with her companion, Pat Moskus.

Florence also loved visiting with friends at McDonald’s.

Surviving are her six children, Henry J. Boucher and wife, Rebecca, of Portsmouth, N.H., Jean F. Jeselskis and companion, Daniel Grenier, of Rumford, Steven L. Boucher and wife, Kathleen, of Norway, Judy A. Whittemore of Portsmouth, N.H., Linwood M. Boucher of Jay, and Cynthia P. Coulombe and husband, Robert, of North Carolina; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.

Florence was predeceased by her parents; husband, Henry; son, Bruce Boucher; and sisters, Alice Laurinaitis and Irene Duguay.
