‘Planning Your Dollars’ workshop

NORWAY — April is National Financial Literacy Month, and in recognition of that, Norway Memorial Library will host Chris Davis of New Ventures Maine to present “Planning Your Dollars” at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 12.

For participants who consider money management a stressor, the workshop will explore tips, resources and roadmaps that may guide them to a healthier relationship with income, expenses and goals. This program is open to the public and free of charge.

Iceland talk at Whitman Library

BRYANT POND — Nancy McClean-Morrisette, director of guidance at Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School, will be the guest speaker at the Whitman Memorial Library. The talk will be at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, April 13.

She will speak about her recent trip to Iceland. 

The program is open to the public at no charge and light refreshments will be served.

Cancer Resource Center Reiki clinic 

NORWAY — The Cancer Resource Center of Western Maine is taking reservations for its free Reiki clinic that will be held from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, April 22, at the Norway Town Office, 19 Danforth St. 

This clinic is for people in treatment for cancer, cancer survivors and caregivers. A reservation for an individual chair session is required by noon on Friday, April 14.

After that date, remaining time slots will be available to anyone in the community wishing to experience Reiki for themselves.

Reiki is gentle touch that promotes relaxation, reduces stress; helps relieve pain and may help improve sleep. Reiki is not a substitute for medical care or treatment.

West Paris Library Easter egg hunt

WEST PARIS — The Friends of the West Paris Library will sponsor an Easter Egg Hunt for West Paris toddlers through first-graders at 9 a.m. Saturday, April 15, at the library. 

Children should be accompanied by an adult. Baskets for collecting the eggs will be available if needed.

Each child will receive a gift, in addition to the Easter eggs found during the hunt. The lucky finder of one marked egg will receive a special prize. The festivities will include a story and a craft.

Over the Hill Band performing

JAY — AMVETS Post 33 will have music by Over the Hill Band from 7 to 11 p.m. Saturday, April 15.

There will not be a cover.

Trail work day on Pleasant Mountain

BRIDGTON — Loon Echo Land Trust will host a trail work day at the Pleasant Mountain’s Ledges Trail on Saturday, April 15.

This beginner to advanced trail work day will be co-led by the Appalachian Mountain Club’s Maine Chapter.
