POLAND — Selectmen have rescheduled the annual town meeting for 9 a.m. Saturday, April 22.
It will be held at Poland Regional High School on Route 26.
The meeting was originally scheduled for April 1, but the charter requires a quorum of at least 100 people to attend and there were not that many.
The same requirement will hold on April 22. “So, please, please, please make every effort to attend,” newly elected First Selectman Stanley Tetenman urged townspeople.
The board voted to spend up to $600 to mail postcards to all residents to remind them of the annual meeting date.
If not enough people show up April 22, the meeting will be rescheduled again and again as necessary to vote the town’s warrant.
In addition to electing Tetenman chairman, former Chairman Walter Gallagher was elected to serve as vice chairman. Other selectmen are Janice Kimball, Mary Beth Taylor and James Walker Jr.
In other business, Adam Strout was reappointed road commissioner until June 30.
