RUMFORD — A Mexico woman charged last month with trafficking in heroin has been charged with unlawful possession of a prescription drug and four other offenses, according to court records.

Jessica Pare, 39, was arraigned Friday in 11th District Court in Rumford, where bail was set at $1,000. She was charged April 6 with unlawful possession of a scheduled drug, operating after suspension, attempting to elude an officer, refusing to submit to arrest and violating conditions of release.

She is scheduled to appear in court at 8:30 a.m. June 12.

According to an affidavit by Rumford police officer Brad Gallant, he saw Pare in the passenger seat of a vehicle driven by Randy Aron, 40, of Mexico on Maine Avenue on April 6.

At the time, the two were out on bail on charges of trafficking in crack cocaine and conspiracy to traffic in crack cocaine, and were barred from having contact with each other, Gallant wrote.

Later on April 6, he stopped them on Cumberland Street and Pare was in the driver’s seat. Both fled on foot.

Gallant and Rumford Sgt. Doug Maifeld found Pare on Rangeley Place. She was arrested and taken to the Rumford Police Department, where police found antidepression/antianxiety medication on her that she had not been prescribed.

Gallant said an arrest warrant was issued this week for Aron, charging him with refusing to submit to arrest, operating without a license and violating conditions of release. Police were still searching for him Tuesday, Gallant said.
