AUBURN — Mary Lou Legere, 85, a resident of Jay, passed away Wednesday, April 12, at Clover Manor Nursing Home in Auburn.

She was born Nov. 1, 1931, in Jay, the daughter of Wilfred Rheaume and Delcia (Fortin) Rheaume. She graduated from Jay High School, Class of 1949. On October 1, 1951, she married Adrian Legere at St Rose of Lima in Jay.

A loving wife and mother, she enjoyed life and being a homemaker. She had been employed for many years at Bass Shoe. She was a communicant of St. Rose of Lima Church and a member of the Daughters of Isabella. Mary Lou was also a member of Frank L. Mitchell VFW Post 3335 Ladies Auxiliary and of the Country Square Quilters.

She is survived by her husband, Adrian Legere, of Jay; four sons, Michael Legere and his wife, Katie, of Orrington, Peter Legere and his wife, Sue, of Hollis, David Legere and his wife, Camille, of Lamoine, and Jeff Legere and his wife, Donna, of Gorham; 10 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her parents; her sisters, Fleurange Rheaume and Yolanda Roy; and her brother, Romeo Rheaume. Messages of condolence may be sent to www.finleyfuneralhome.com.
