Coach: Frank Orcutt (Third year)
Class: C; Conference: MVC
Last year’s record: 0-16
Returning athletes: Seniors — Sean Allen (P/1B), John May (P/Util), Riley Davenport (IF/P), Dan Luce (OF/P); Juniors — Bryce Werzanski (2B/P), Sam Storer (INF/P).
Key losses: Seth Thomas, Hunter York, Austin Ladd, Cody York.
Promising newcomers: Freshmen — Kaleb Clark (INF/P), Nathan Luce (INF/P).
Season outlook: The Roadrunners have nowhere to go but up in 2017 and there is reason to believe they will do that. They have good pitching depth, which could be an advantage with the new pitch count rules. Hitting was their biggest issue last year, and Orcutt expects newcomers Clark and Luce to help out there. He’s also vowed to be more aggressive with manufacturing runs.
