LEWISTON — Barbara T. Smith, 90, of Auburn passed away peacefully Thursday, April 13, at Marshwood Nursing Center in Lewiston.

She was born April 14, 1926, in Auburn, a daughter of the late William and Geneva Buckley Bradbury. She grew up in the Minot Corner community and attended Auburn schools. She was a graduate of Edward Little High School.

After high school, in December 1944, she married Everett Trask and they started a family. They were married for 29 years. During that time, they both owned and operated what is now the Minot Country Store and Post Office. Barbara also worked in the fashion business beginning at B. Peck in Lewiston.

In 1980, she married Rollis Smith and had moved to various areas of the country all while still continuing her work in the fashion industry. She retired from Macy’s in South Portland in 2004 at the age of 78.

Barbara will always be remembered for her devotion, care and commitment to her family. She loved spending as much time as she could with her grandchildren and her great-grandchildren, who often referred to her as “Bubbles.” She will be deeply missed by all of her family.

She is survived by her daughter, Paula White, and her husband, Sheldon; her beloved sister, Ruth; a brother-in-law, Dick; a stepson, Rocky Smith and family; a stepdaughter, Donna Packer and family; a grandson, Christian Durgin and his wife; Jen; a granddaughter, Abby Jacobs and her husband, Dan; great-grandchildren, Geneva and Samuel Durgin and Hope and Vincent Jacobs; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, Rollis Smith; a sister, Helen Whittle; a brother-in-law, Robert Davis; and a nephew, Steven Davis.
