POLAND — A fire destroyed a mobile home in Poland late Sunday, displacing four adults and two teenagers.

Poland Fire Chief Mark Bosse said Poland crews responded to 24 Knoll Road at about 6:50 p.m. Sunday, where a heavy fire stemmed from underneath the mobile home. 

Bosse said due to the soft ground and muddy conditions, only one truck was able to make it into the property, where crews had to lay a water supply line. He said despite their efforts, the home is a complete loss. 

The cause of fire is still unknown, he said, adding that the investigation will continue Tuesday with the state fire marshals service. 

A video of the blaze shows firefighters attempting to douse the fire, but the home was already completely engulfed. 

“It was challenging to get to because the driveway was in pretty rough shape,” he said.

The displaced residents were put up for the night by American Red Cross, but Bosse said he doesn’t know how long that will continue. He said the homeowners did not have insurance. 

“Hopefully we can figure out how it happened,” Bosse said. “They lost everything.”
