LEWISTON — People’s Community Foundation, the philanthropic arm of People’s United Bank, has given the Good Shepherd Food Bank $10,000.

The money will support the food bank’s Food Mobile Hunger Relief Program, which delivers food directly to those in need in the Auburn-Lewiston and Bangor regions.

“The $10,000 grant from People’s United Bank will fund eight Food Mobile distribution events,” Kristen Miale, president of Good Shepherd Food Bank, said. “This will allow us to deliver about 45,000 pounds of nutritious food — or 35,000 to 40,000 meals — directly to needy families in the area.”
